Following their promotion to Serie B, Benevento are seeking to reinforce their attack due to player departures and an injury, and have targeted Italian attacker Francesco Ruocco from Mantova, which he joined in July 2024. According to Il Mattino, the club has started contacts with the relevant parties to learn about the conditions and schedule for a possible transfer. Ruocco, a player born in 2001 who can act as a central attacking midfielder or a left winger, scored seven goals and provided one assist in 25 appearances last season. His current Transfermarkt market value is €1.30m. A transfer is made difficult by the two years remaining on his contract with Mantova, but Benevento reportedly views him as a player for both the immediate and long term, hoping to add players for manager Antonio Floro Flores before the market officially opens in early July.
