The Latvian champions RFS have announced the signing of Facundo García, despite interest from newly promoted AEL. García, a 25-year-old Argentine defensive midfielder, has extensive experience in Argentina, Spain, and Cyprus, and has already joined RFS for training with a contract valid for two and a half years, until the end of the 2027 season.

AEL is making progress in their pursuit of Facundo Garcia to bolster their defensive lineup. The player is anticipated to become a free agent next summer, departing from Omonia 29is Maiou. The 25-year-old Argentine is versatile, capable of playing as both a defensive midfielder and a central defender. He joined Cyprus last summer from the Spanish club Teruel, where he made 25 appearances and scored two goals under the guidance of AEL's current coach, Giorgos Petrakis. It appears that Garcia is recommended by Petrakis, prompting AEL's management to work on bringing him into the 'Vissini' squad to satisfy their new coach's desire. The talks are progressing well, making an agreement between the two parties seem quite probable at this stage.
