Argentinian midfielder Facundo Cáseres, 25, one of Gil Vicente's team captains, is close to joining the Mexican club Santos Laguna, which is managed by Renato Paiva. Negotiations between the clubs are at an advanced stage. The player is expected to travel between the early hours and the morning of Wednesday to complete the move. If the deal is finalized, Gil Vicente will receive a transfer fee of around three million euros. Cáseres joined the Portuguese club in July 2024 and has a contract until 2028. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €2.50m.
