Paysandu announced on Saturday that they have signed 30-year-old left-back Facundo Bonifazi. The player was a free agent after his contract with Cerro Lago, a club in the Uruguayan first division, expired. In the previous season, he made 44 appearances, with 43 of those being starts, scored one goal, and provided five assists. According to reports, Bonifazi had been offered to Paysandu previously in August 2025, but discussions did not move forward as the club was under a transfer ban imposed by FIFA at that time.
