Facundo Batista Transfer from Polessya to Peñarol
Peñarol made two attempts to sign Facundo Batista. Initially, they proposed a loan deal, which Polissya rejected. Peñarol then improved their offer, but it still did not convince Polissya to let go of their striker.
Facundo Batista, a 26-year-old center-forward, is engaged in official negotiations to depart Polissya during the summer transfer window. Peñarol has initiated official talks to acquire the Uruguayan striker, who had a stint at Peñarol on loan from the Mexican club Necaxa before his move to Ukraine. Journalist Sebas Giovanelli reported that Peñarol has already made strides in negotiations for Batista's return. Batista has emerged as one of Polissya's top scorers in the 2024/25 season, netting 6 goals in 13 matches. Batista had previously instructed his agents to seek a new club for him as he resolved to leave Ukraine due to the ongoing war.
Facundo Batista, a 26-year-old forward from Uruguay currently playing for Polissya, asked his agent to seek a new club for him in another country. This request came after a Russian military attack on Ukraine, specifically targeting Zhytomyr, caused damage to the windows of his residence. Reports indicate that Peñarol, a club where Batista had played on loan from Necaxa before being transferred to Polissya, is interested in acquiring him. However, sources in Uruguay claim that a return to Peñarol is improbable due to Polissya's reluctance to let go of the talented striker. In the past, media sources stated that Hennadiy Butkevych, the president of Polissya, had persuaded Batista to continue his career in Ukraine.
