According to Voetbalprimeur.nl, Go Ahead Eagles acquired Eus Waayers on Monday. The nineteen-year-old right-back comes from PSV and will act as the backup to Alfons Sampsted in Deventer. Waayers, whose contract in Eindhoven was expiring, played 24 official matches for the Eindhoven talent team and was on the bench for a PSV 1 match on several occasions.

According to Voetbalprimeur.nl, Eus Waayers is joining Go Ahead Eagles from Jong PSV. He is set to sign a contract until the summer of 2029 and will compete with Alfons Sampsted.

Go Ahead Eagles is in talks with PSV over a transfer for Eus Waayers, whom the club views as a replacement for Mats Deijl following his move to Feyenoord. According to PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad, the Eindhoven club is discussing the sale of the nineteen-year-old Dutch right-back. PSV reportedly considers Waayers a talent, but may be open to a sale because he has an expiring contract and an extension has not been agreed. The defender has not yet made his senior debut. After an injury disrupted his progress toward the first team last season, he has struggled to regain his form, playing for Jong PSV only nine times this season. If Waayers joins Go Ahead Eagles, he will likely compete for a starting position with fellow new signing Alfons Sampsted. Waayers has been capped once for the Netherlands U17 team and, according to Transfermarkt, has a current market value of €350k.
