According to journalist Joost Blaauwhof of Voetbal International, Etienne Vaessen has instructed his management not to enter into negotiations until after the season. Wrexham showed serious interest in Etienne Vaessen.
Joost Blaauwhof reports that Etienne Vaessen is attracting interest from Wrexham and that the English second division club has already contacted the goalkeeper's entourage. Blaauwhof also notes that Antwerp FC, Mexican side Tigres, and Feyenoord are monitoring the 30-year-old FC Groningen player. It is reported that Vaessen wants to finish the season with his current team, which could potentially push any transfer to the summer. The Suriname international joined Groningen in July 2024 and has a contract that runs until June 2027. This season, he has made 10 appearances in the Eredivisie. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €2.00m.
