Offensive player Erik Weinhauer, 25, is transferring from Erzgebirge Aue to Austrian second-division club FC Blau-Weiß Linz, signing a contract until 2028. The transfer comes one year after he joined Aue from Carl Zeiss Jena, during which he scored seven goals and provided five assists in 35 competitive games. Blau-Weiß Linz coach Michael Köllner stated he was pleased to sign a player with many decisive qualities, highlighting Weinhauer's ability to change the tempo of a game, which he believes will provide a dynamic boost. Köllner also praised the player's finishing quality, goal threat, tactical flexibility, and character. In an Instagram post, Weinhauer described the past season as incredibly difficult with personal setbacks and explained that the decision on his future was hard. He stated that he is in his prime footballing age and did not want to risk a sporting step backward.
