Anderlecht is interested in Eric Smith, a 29-year-old Swedish central defender who can also play in midfield. The player previously played for AA Gent before reviving his career at the German club St. Pauli, where he often served as captain. With Smith in the final year of his contract, his transfer fee is estimated at around 2 million euros. Italian club Bologna FC is also said to have a concrete interest in him, but so far, no official bid has been made. Smith joined St. Pauli in July 2021 and has two caps for the Swedish national team.
