Mjällby is the leading contender to sign 19-year-old Emmanuel Utake from the Nigerian club Rivers United. Utake, who was recently called up to the Nigerian U23 national team, is capable of playing as a central defender and a midfielder. There is also interest from clubs in North Africa and Asia, however, a transfer to Mjällby during the winter is regarded as the most probable outcome.
