Cardiff City were interested in signing Manchester City prospect Emilio Lawrence, a 20-year-old Scottish-English winger, last summer before opting to bring in Omari Kellyman instead. Lawrence spent the first half of the subsequent season with Manchester City's under-21s before joining Luton Town on loan in January, where he scored once and provided five assists in 17 league matches in League One. Luton manager Jack Wilshere has since publicly stated his desire to bring Lawrence back to the club. Cardiff's manager, Brian Barry-Murphy, has connections to Manchester City. Lawrence is a Scotland youth international. His current Transfermarkt market value is €200k.
