The main obstacle to the transfer is the player's salary, which is around 200,000 euros a year at Catania, where one year remains on his contract. This figure is considered high for the division. Cicerelli's agent, Luigi Matrecano, had previously expressed his belief that a club like Pescara, which he described as known for building important squads, could afford the salary, despite it being high for a top player in Serie C.
