Süper Lig team Kasımpaşa has completed its first transfer of the new season by signing Elson Mendes from the French club Sochaux. The 20-year-old Cape Verdean defensive midfielder signed his official contract for the Istanbul-based club, which is managed by Emre Belözoğlu, at the Kemerburgaz Facilities. The signing ceremony was attended by the club's CEO, Ceyhun Kazancı. Mendes, who also holds Portuguese nationality, made 25 appearances for Sochaux in Ligue 3 during the 2025/2026 season, scoring two goals and providing two assists. He has one international cap for Cape Verde. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €800k.
