Eduard Spertsyan Transfer from Krasnodar to Ajax
Eduard Spertsyan has been linked with interest from Dutch club Ajax. His contract with Krasnodar runs until the summer of 2026.
Ajax showed a concrete interest in Eduard Spertsyan two years ago, although nothing came of it. Recently, rumors have surfaced suggesting that Ajax has rekindled their interest. Murad Musayev, the head coach of Krasnodar, stated that the club would consider allowing Spertsyan to leave if a very attractive offer is received. Musayev stressed that the final decision rests with Spertsyan, acknowledging his contributions and expressing the club's support for whatever decision he makes. Musayev advised Spertsyan to remain patient, ensuring him that the club would permit his departure if an appealing opportunity emerges. Additionally, the club owner, Sergey Galitsky, is reportedly open to discussions should a significant offer be proposed.
Ajax, under trainer John Heitinga, is interested in signing Eduard Spertsyan this summer. Spertsyan has been a top candidate for Ajax for several years. Two years ago, a transfer was blocked by the Ajax Supervisory Board due to moral objections to dealing with a Russian club. Spertsyan has impressed with 11 goals and 7 assists in 28 matches last season. His contract with Krasnodar runs until the summer of 2026, making this summer a critical time for a potential transfer. Ajax may be able to negotiate the price down as Spertsyan is not open to a contract extension in Russia.
According to the Russian media outlet Sport-Express, Ajax is said to be interested in renewing their pursuit of Eduard Spertsyan. Their interest dates back to the summer of 2023 when Sven Mislintat was serving as the technical director. Ajax has been associated with Spertsyan over three transfer periods, but the transfer has not yet taken place. It is suggested that Ajax might make another attempt this summer. Previous reports suggested that Ajax had been in contact with Krasnodar about the transfer. Nonetheless, Ajax is reportedly facing competition from clubs in Belgium, France, and Italy, with Lazio being specifically highlighted. Spertsyan, a 25-year-old Armenian international, had a remarkable season in the Russian league, scoring eleven goals and providing seven assists in 28 matches, and also played a key role in Krasnodar's championship victory.
