According to a report from South America, a last-minute deal for Edson Álvarez to join San Jose Earthquakes collapsed. This followed a summer where bids from clubs including Real Sociedad, Ajax, and Olympiacos failed to convince the West Ham United board, who sought approximately 16m USD. Álvarez, who joined West Ham in August 2023 and has a contract until June 2028, has just returned from a loan at Fenerbahce.
