According to sources close to the player, Dinamo Mahačkala showed concrete interest in Dušan Vuković and made an official offer of a loan for 300,000 euros with an option to buy for an additional 600,000 euros. Although Vuković had no objection to the transfer, Lokomotiva did not release him, as they believe they can get 1.1 million euros plus a percentage of the next sale for the Montenegrin player. Dinamo Mahačkala was unable to pay this amount. Lokomotiva had already sold Fabijan Krivak to Sigma this winter, and therefore had no reason to give a discount for the 23-year-old.

Scouts from Stade Brestois (Brest) are attending the match between Lokomotiva Zagreb and HNK Gorica to observe Dušan Vuković. He is a Montenegrin talent who has been called up to the national team for the upcoming international break. Vuković is a 23-year-old offensive player who showed impressive performance in recent matches, scoring a goal in the previous match against Istra and actively participating in the game against Vukovar 1991.

Olimpija Ljubljana was the most concrete option for Vuković, with the club's sports director, Goran Boromisa, wanting to bring him in as a replacement for Raul Florutz. A four-year contract was nearly agreed upon, but the deal fell through due to Lokomotiva's demand for a one million euro transfer fee, while Olimpija offered only 700,000 euros.
