Due to Sabadell's promotion, Diego Fuoli's contract with Sabadell was automatically extended by one year until 2028, and his release clause increased from 350,000 to 800,000 euros. Sabadell was refusing to negotiate with Real Zaragoza, which was already working on an alternative plan. There have been calls for the termination of Fuoli's contract, which would make his move to Real Zaragoza easier.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Zaragoza is considering signing 28-year-old Spanish goalkeeper Diego Fuoli from Sabadell. The club has already announced the arrival of goalkeeper Anartz Peña from Arenas de Getxo, who is expected to be the second-choice keeper if the deal for Fuoli is finalized. Fuoli, who joined Sabadell in July 2025, made 37 appearances in the Primera Federación and two in the promotion playoffs during the 2025/2026 season.
