German-Italian defensive midfielder Diego Demme, 34, will depart from Hertha BSC on a free transfer in the summer when his contract expires, following an unsatisfying year where he made only 15 competitive appearances and is now seeking more regular playing time. Demme wishes to return to Italy, and his agent is actively working to find him a club there. It is reported that two Serie B clubs, FC Empoli and Cesena FC, have shown concrete interest. Inquiries from Turkish clubs Kasimpasa and Sariyerspor are not currently being considered by the player. The former Germany international has one cap for the national team.
