Fiorentina is looking to reinforce its defense during the January transfer window, and one of the profiles being considered is 22-year-old Italian centre-back Diego Coppola. It is reported that the player is ready to return to Serie A after leaving Hellas Verona for Brighton in the summer. At Brighton, he has received less playing time than he had anticipated. The two-time Italy international has made just 4 appearances in the Premier League this season. Bologna has also recently been linked with the defender. Brighton signed Coppola in July 2025 for a fee reported to be €11 million. Earlier in that year, Juventus was reportedly interested at valuations between €12 million and €15 million.
