Devante Cole Transfer from Port Vale to Luton Town
The Hatters have permanently signed Jamaican striker Devante Cole from Port Vale. The thirty-year-old scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists in 19 League One appearances for Vale this season, and scored against Town in the meeting between the two sides in December. Cole, who scored the hundredth goal of his career on New Year's Day, is a former England youth international who came through the Manchester City academy. Devante Cole said it had been a long week but he was very happy to have concluded it. He stated that since hearing about the interest, he had always wanted to become a Luton player and was glad the moment had arrived. Cole mentioned having been to Kenilworth Road a couple of times, which he described as always a difficult place for an opposing team to play, but said he could not wait to take the field with the fans on his side. He added that familiar faces help one settle quickly into a new club, noting that he knew Mads very well from their time at Barnsley and Kal from when they were together at Wigan, and that he was sure all the guys would be great. He concluded by saying he could not wait to get started. Cole has a current market value of €550k, according to Transfermarkt. Bradford City were also linked with the striker.
