Mexican top-flight club Club Necaxa is interested in 18-year-old Honduran winger Dereck Moncada. Club Necaxa has the same owners as Moncada’s former Colombian club, Internacional de Bogotá, and is therefore very familiar with the player. Concrete talks have not yet started among any of the interested parties. The aim is to generate a transfer fee of more than ten million euros at some point. Moncada's contract with FC Lugano runs until 2031; he joined the club in July 2026. He has been capped four times by Honduras. Wolverhampton Wanderers have also been linked with the player. His current market value on Transfermarkt is €2.50m.
