According to Union SG, Egel is a strong defender and has played in nearly 100 matches in the Regionalliga Sudwest. World Transfer Desk reports that Union identified him using their data-driven scouting model.

Defender Dennis Egel will leave Walldorf in Germany's fourth-tier Regionalliga to join Union Saint-Gilloise. Egel was an important part of the defense at his former club. Walldorf was initially reluctant to allow one of its key players to leave. However, the club ultimately approved the transfer to Belgium.
