Lechia Gdańsk announced that Dawid Kurminowski, a 27-year-old Polish centre-forward, will no longer be a player for the club. A clause in Kurminowski's contract permitted either party to unilaterally end the agreement if the team was relegated, an event that has happened. The club stated that it was unable to uphold Kurminowski's contract because of his high salary and the financial risk related to the current legal proceedings concerning a five-point deduction. The club thanked Kurminowski for his performances and expressed good wishes for his future. He will be able to join a new club without a transfer fee. The Poland U21 international moved to Lechia in July 2025 and in the 2025/2026 Ekstraklasa season made 23 appearances, scoring 3 goals, and gave 1 assist. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €250k.
