According to Sky, there is a possibility that David Odogu will return to Germany this summer, as Milan are reportedly looking for a club for a loan. The pay-TV broadcaster states that FSV Mainz 05 is among the clubs that have shown definite interest. The Rossoneri want a loan without an option to buy and do not want to permanently transfer Odogu.

David Odogu is set to leave Milan on loan for one season, twelve months after he joined the club from Wolfsburg for a fee of €7 million plus €3 million in bonuses. The 20-year-old German-Nigerian central defender has several teams interested, with Anderlecht and Mainz currently being the most concrete options. Milan will decide with the player on the best destination for his development. His contract with the club runs until June 30, 2029, and his current market value is €5.00m, according to Transfermarkt. Odogu has four caps for the Germany U20 team.
