Nigerian centre-forward David Okereke, 28, received several proposals in the summer following a successful loan spell at Gaziantep. An offer was made by Samsunspor, and his former loan club Gaziantep, as well as Kasimpasa and Fatih Karagumruk, also made approaches. Despite the player being on an expiring contract, no club offered the amount Cremonese requested. In January, further interest emerged, which included more proposals from Turkey and one from the MLS club Cincinnati, but Cremonese did not allow the player to leave. Okereke, who has not yet been capped by Nigeria, joined Cremonese in July 2022. This season in Serie A, he has scored one goal in four appearances. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €1.50m.
