Nigerian centre-forward David Okereke will join Benevento after the club secured his signing, overcoming interest from foreign clubs. The parties reached a final agreement after having been close to a deal earlier in the morning. Benevento Calcio announced that they have reached an agreement with the forward, who was born in 1997. The club confirmed that Okereke has signed a contract until June 30, 2028, which includes an option for an automatic extension until June 30, 2029. According to Transfermarkt, Okereke has a market value of €1.40m. He had also been linked with clubs such as Cincinnati, Samsunspor, and Gaziantep F.K. He is yet to be capped by Nigeria.
