David Harrington has extended his emergency loan at Grimsby Town for a further week. Harrington joined Bolton Wanderers from Fleetwood Town in January to provide competition for Jack Bonham. He is yet to feature in a competitive fixture for Bolton Wanderers but was involved in pre-season and was one of four goalkeepers named in the 25-man squad list submitted to the EFL earlier this week. Harrington was named on the bench for the first couple of league games before the arrival of Gavin Bazunu, who came into the starting line-up against West Ham United on Tuesday night.

David Harrington has joined Grimsby Town from Bolton Wanderers on an emergency two-day loan.

David Harrington is set to join Grimsby Town from Bolton Wanderers on an emergency loan to address a shortage of goalkeepers at the club, which arose after their first-choice keeper Christy Pym was injured in a match against Accrington Stanley. It is believed that Grimsby's request to the EFL for extenuating circumstances has been approved. The 26-year-old is expected to start his first game of the season on Saturday against Cheltenham Town. Harrington, a Welsh and Irish national who joined Bolton from Fleetwood Town last January but has yet to make a first-team appearance, had his position in the team's hierarchy of goalkeepers lowered at Wanderers following the arrival of Ireland international Gavin Bazunu before Tuesday's deadline. His contract with Bolton is due to expire in June 2028 and his current Transfermarkt market value is €150k.
