UTA Arad has secured Romanian forward David Barbu on a loan deal from Universitatea Craiova for the remainder of the season, a move reported by Sport.ro and announced with one day remaining in the transfer window. The transfer was made official by both clubs through their social media channels. While Universitatea Craiova confirmed the 19-year-old's temporary exit, UTA Arad welcomed their new signing, noting the 1.90m attacker's adaptability in attack. The Arad-based club also pointed to his impressive showing for Romania's U19 squad at Euro 2025, where he found the net three times in four appearances. Before his transfer, Barbu, who came through Craiova's youth system and is valued at €250k by Transfermarkt, had featured in four league games for the club this season, all from the bench.
