Daniel Valencia, a 29-year-old Ecuadorian Centre-Forward who played for Manta, is joining América de Cali. The move comes after the club's coach, David González, had consistently and publicly requested a new attacker. This will be Valencia's first professional experience outside of Ecuador, and he noted that the proposal was a surprise, as he was instructed to prepare to leave immediately after returning home from training. In a dialogue with Jeferson Piña, Valencia stated that he will be at América de Cali for three seasons, describing the opportunity as unexpected and one to be taken advantage of. Over his career, Valencia has scored 58 goals and provided 16 assists in 178 matches. Valencia joined Manta FC in February 2024 and has a current market value of €1.20m, according to Transfermarkt.
