Daniel Kanu, a 21-year-old forward for Charlton Athletic and a Sierra Leone international, has joined Notts County on a season-long loan. The move follows a 2025-26 campaign with Walsall, where he scored 18 goals, making him their top scorer, and was named the Sky Bet League Two Young Player of the Season. Notts County's Director of Football, Richard Montague, stated that Kanu's skills complement the team's forwards well. Montague also described Kanu as a natural scorer who uses his speed effectively and works hard out of possession, and added that the club is excited he chose them for his continued development. Daniel Kanu has scored one goal in six appearances for Sierra Leone. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €600k. It was also reported that AFC Wimbledon and Bromley were interested in the forward.
