Young defender Daniel Cox has returned to Derby County, as the Rams ended his season-long loan with League Two leaders Walsall early. The 19-year-old Wales Under-21 international joined the Saddlers in the summer and made a total of seven appearances for Mat Sadler's side across all competitions, including three starts in the league. According to a statement from Derby, Cox has returned from his loan spell, and his debut for Walsall was in August against Stoke City in the Carabao Cup. In a statement, Walsall also thanked the player for his professionalism and effort and noted the club is working to strengthen its squad in the January transfer window.
