Curtis Nelson, a centre-back from Derby County, has been signed by MK Dons for an undisclosed fee. He is the third player to be signed by MK Dons in the current transfer window, following midfielders Ben Wiles and Jay Matete.

According to Pete O’Rourke via X, Curtis Nelson is set to join League Two MK Dons in a permanent move. MK Dons have now agreed a deal and Nelson is due for a medical. Plymouth Argyle, Mansfield Town and Burton Albion were all keen on Nelson, but Paul Warne’s side have secured the signing.

Curtis Nelson is nearing a departure from Derby County, two-and-a-half years after he signed for the club while they were in League One. MK Dons are in the leading position to sign the 32-year-old this month. The head coach of the Dons, Paul Warne, who brought Nelson to Pride Park in the summer of 2023, is preparing for a reunion with the player. Another former Derby player, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, also moved to the Buckinghamshire outfit before the campaign. If a deal is completed, Nelson will have an opportunity to help Warne and MK Dons achieve promotion to League One.
