Cruz Azul is preparing to loan 22-year-old Mexican midfielder Cristian Jiménez to Club Sport Herediano in Costa Rica. The negotiations are advanced, led by Jafet Soto from the Costa Rican club. Cruz Azul will cover the player's salary. Jiménez joined Cruz Azul's youth system in 2019 and debuted with the first team in September 2021. He had more playtime under coach Ricardo Ferretti but lost his spot after coaching changes. According to Transfermarkt, the player's current market value is €200k.
