Derby County are continuing their search for a striker and are in advanced talks to sign Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi from OH Leuven. The 24-year-old Nigerian has been capped at U20 level and is entering the final year of his contract with the Belgian club, which he joined in July 2024. The discussions to bring Ikwuemesi to the Championship are advanced. Derby are reportedly seeking to sign the striker on a three-year contract and have submitted a £3.5m proposal. Leuven is understood to value the player at a higher figure, and talks between the clubs are progressing positively, but an official agreement has not yet been reached. According to Transfermarkt, Ikwuemesi has a current market value of €1.20m.
