Christos Mandas Transfer from Lazio to Panathinaikos
An Italian report states that Panathinaikos approached Greek goalkeeper Christos Mandas, who rejected the possibility of returning to Greece at this point in his career.
According to a report by journalist Ekrem Konur, Panathinaikos is targeting Lazio's Greek goalkeeper Christos Mandas and is ready to bring him back to his home country in the winter transfer window. The same report, which was covered in France by foot-sur7.fr, adds that Panathinaikos is seriously evaluating Mandas' profile to strengthen their defense following difficulties with their current goalkeepers.
Panathinaikos has a strong interest in Christos Mandas, a 24-year-old goalkeeper, and may attempt to sign him to support the new project under Rafa Benítez. Mandas has not played this season because Maurizio Sarri prefers Provedel. This situation has reportedly dissatisfied the international keeper, who would prefer to be a first-choice option. Panathinaikos aims to use this situation to strengthen its goalkeeping position, as current options Dragowski and Lafon have made mistakes. Lazio is reportedly not opposed to selling Mandas, and according to Italian media reports from a few weeks ago, Wolves are also interested in him. The player extended his contract with the Italian club last March, and the agreement is now valid until the summer of 2029. Although the prospects for a deal are not currently favorable for Panathinaikos, the club remains attentive to Greek players abroad to strengthen its local contingent.
