It is very likely that either Martin Georgiev or 21-year-old Greek centre-back Christos Alexiou will leave the team in January to get the necessary game time and return more prepared. Christos Alexiou came from Inter with high expectations but has not gained the approval of his coach, as he is considered to be behind the level of AEK. He joined AEK Athens in July 2026 on a loan from Inter U23 that runs until June 2027; his contract with the Italian club expires in June 2029. The defender has 11 caps and one goal for the Greece U21 national team. His current market value is €1.20m, according to Transfermarkt.
