Christopher Nkunku has been placed on the transfer list by AC Milan because he does not fit into the plans of the new coach, Rúben Amorim. Borussia Dortmund has made inquiries about Nkunku, due to his profile and his past success in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig. AC Milan is open to a departure for Nkunku, particularly in the form of a loan, due to the club's need to generate resources after an ambitious transfer window and significant investments. Nkunku is one of the highest earners at the club. The player wants to leave, feeling that the conditions are no longer suitable for him to continue at Milan and preferring a move to a European club to revive his career at the highest level.

According to Tuttomercato, there is an update on the interest from abroad in Christopher Nkunku. Borussia Dortmund was among the first to request information from his agent but has not yet made a formal move. Milan would only let Nkunku leave on a permanent deal and for a fee of around 30 million euros, to avoid recording a capital loss compared to what was paid a year ago.

CalcioMercato reports that Dortmund has made an inquiry for Christopher Nkunku.

Coach Rúben Amorim has removed Christopher Nkunku from the AC Milan first team, and the player is now training individually. The 28-year-old French attacker was given permission to seek a new club and was subsequently seen at a Milan airport. A loan move is considered a possibility. According to 'L'Équipe', teams from Italy, Spain, and Germany are interested, and the publication specifically mentioned Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig as potential destinations. Nkunku, who has 18 caps and 2 goals for France, joined Milan from Chelsea in August 2025 for a €37 million fee and has a contract until 2030. In the 2025/2026 Serie A season, he made 32 appearances, scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists. Recent reports from August 2026 state AC Milan is seeking a minimum of €29.6 million, while in May 2026, their asking price was reportedly at least €40 million.
