Christopher Lenz joins Fortuna Düsseldorf on a free transfer from Hoffenheim, as a replacement for Nicolas Gavory, who was not given a new contract due to injury concerns. Lenz has struggled with calf injuries and played only 11 games for Frankfurt, Leipzig, and Hoffenheim since 2023. He previously won the Euroleague with Frankfurt in 2022. Lenz is expected to bring experience and new impulses to Fortuna's left side and has signed a contract until 2027 with an option for an additional year.

Christopher Lenz is transferring to Fortuna Düsseldorf from TSG Hoffenheim. He only played twice for Hoffenheim's regional team. Klaus Allofs, the sports director, stated that Lenz is an experienced player who was previously contracted with established Bundesliga clubs but recently did not play regularly. They expect him to bring fresh energy to their left side and share his high-level experience with younger players. The Rheinländer club did not disclose the duration of Lenz's contract.
