Hellas Verona attempted to sign Christian Kouamé, a 28-year-old Ivorian centre-forward from Fiorentina, shortly before the transfer window closed. This attempt occurred after a proposed dry loan for the player to Cagliari collapsed; the deal with Cagliari had appeared to be complete approximately one hour before the deadline. Lega Serie A published Kouamé's contract but reserved the right for additional checks. These checks revealed that not all the necessary documents had been submitted to complete the transfer. A final evaluation is expected the following morning, and the outcome is considered unlikely to be positive. Consequently, Fiorentina has begun exploring destinations for Kouamé in countries where the transfer market is still open. Christian Kouamé joined Fiorentina in September 2020 and has a contract until June 2027. He has made two appearances in Serie A during the 2025/2026 season. For the Ivory Coast, he has 30 caps and has scored three goals. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €2.50m. In January 2025, Fiorentina's asking price was reportedly at least €7 million, and in July 2024, Maiorca reportedly made an offer in the range of €6-8 million.
