Christian Doidge, a 33-year-old Welsh centre-forward, has joined Newport County as a free agent following his release from Forest Green Rovers. Doidge described the transfer to his hometown club as being a dream move. In the 2025/2026 season, he made 18 appearances and scored 1 goal in the National League.
