According to L'Équipe, AJ Auxerre has officially signed the international Congolese player Christ Makosso. Christ Makosso has signed with Auxerre until 2030 for a little over 2 million euros. The 22-year-old central defender was previously at Luton Town. He was formed at Sochaux, played at RWDM in the Belgian first division from January to December 2024, and was loaned to Oxford in the Championship by Luton from January to June 2026.

Auxerre and Luton have an agreement in principle for the transfer of Christ Makosso. The deal for the 22-year-old Congolese defender is valued at approximately £2 million, including add-ons. Makosso, who was on loan at Oxford last season, will travel to France to finalize the move. He has five international caps for Congo and made 11 appearances in League One and 6 appearances in the Championship during the 2025/2026 season. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at €800k.
