Victor Angelescu, a minority shareholder at Rapid Bucuresti, announced that the club is bringing in 18-year-old central midfielder Chec Bebel Doumbia from Burkina Faso from Genoa. Angelescu stated he hopes the player will arrive in the course of the next week. This potential signing comes after coach Daniel Pancu expressed the need for reinforcements in midfield. Doumbia recently returned to Genoa after a loan spell with ASD Team Altamura, where he made 22 appearances and scored one goal in the 2025/2026 Serie C - C season. His contract with the Italian club runs until June 2030, and his current market value is €400k, according to Transfermarkt.
