Sporting Kansas City had submitted an offer to sign 23-year-old Peruvian left-back Cesar Inga, but his club Universitario is negotiating with a club in England for the transfer. The club believed to be intervening in the transfer is Watford. Universitario de Deportes initially rejected an offer that arrived for him from the United States a few days ago. The defender, who has been capped four times for Peru, scoring once, joined Universitario in January 2025 and is under contract until the end of 2027. His current market value is estimated at €1.50m by Transfermarkt. In January 2026, reports indicated Watford submitted a bid of approximately €1.8 million (£1.5 million) for the player.
