Salernitana made two attempts to re-sign Cedric Gondo, a 29-year-old Ivorian-Italian striker who played an important role in the club's promotion to Serie A during the 2020-21 season. Sporting director Daniele Faggiano tried to acquire the striker from Reggiana at the beginning of January and again during a meeting in Milan on the last day of the transfer window. Reggiana, which was also in negotiations with other Serie B clubs, decided to keep Gondo. This decision was strengthened after the player scored against Juve Stabia, which ended a long period without scoring and affirmed his importance to Reggiana's plans. Gondo's contract with Reggiana is valid until June 2026, and his market value on Transfermarkt is currently €500k. In the current Serie B season, he has scored two goals in 17 appearances. Juve Stabia and Bari 1908 were also recently linked with the forward.
