Bright Edomwonyi Transfer from Diósgyőr to Nyíregyháza Spartacus

Bright Edomwonyi, who played for Diósgyőr over the past two years, during which he scored 7 goals and provided 6 assists in the 2024/2025 season, has signed a two-year contract with Nyíregyháza. The player conveyed his happiness about joining Nyíregyháza, mentioning his familiarity with the club and its supporters. Nyíregyháza's Sporting Director, Fekete Tivadar, mentioned that they had been in contact with Edomwonyi for some time, knowing his contract was expiring, and regarded his signing as a triumph over a rival club. Tivadar also expressed gratitude towards his colleague Dankó Gergő for his efforts in working on the contract over the past weeks. Edomwonyi, a 30-year-old Nigerian forward, was a key player for Diósgyőr, having featured in 30 NB I matches and played nearly 2000 minutes. He had previously demonstrated his scoring skills in Austria with Sturm Graz and Austria Wien, and has also played for Slovenia's FC Koper and Turkey's Rizespor. Tivadar highlighted that Edomwonyi's signing reflects the club's growing respectability and its appeal to players, as they aim to bolster their squad with a typically strong striker.
