According to Globo.com, Columbus Crew has maintained its interest in Brenner and made a loan proposal for him. Initially, Vasco will only negotiate a definitive sale or a loan with an obligation to buy. The board will agree to negotiate for an option to buy, with higher values, if a proposal from any club is pleasing to Brenner.

Brazilian centre-forward Brenner, 26, reportedly wishes to return to MLS, but Columbus Crew was unable to put together a financial package that Vasco da Gama would accept for a transfer. Brenner joined Vasco da Gama in January 2026, and his contract runs until the end of 2029. In the 2025/2026 Série A season, he has made 14 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist. His current Transfermarkt market value is €4.00m.
