According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Independiente Medellín has finalized the sale of 25-year-old Colombian centre-forward Brayan León Muñiz to Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa for 3.2 million dollars. The transfer occurred despite interest from MLS clubs, including Real Salt Lake, and other teams on the American continent. León Muñiz has a current Transfermarkt market value of €1.60m and will join the team that competed in the Club World Cup last year. His departure is part of Medellín's squad changes as they plan for their 2026 campaign, which includes the Copa Libertadores.
