Brandon Powell leaving Blackburn Rovers U21?
Barrow AFC has signed 20-year-old Blackburn Rovers attacking midfielder Brandon Powell on loan until the end of the season. Powell said he is delighted to be at Barrow and has known of the interest for a while. Powell also stated that he had come there to get experience in league football and help the club hopefully move up the table. Bluebirds head coach Paul Gallagher said he is delighted that Blackburn and Brandon decided Barrow is the club to develop him over the next stage of his career. Gallagher praised Powell's pedigree with Manchester City and Blackburn and his versatility. Powell will wear squad number 28 and is available for Barrow's upcoming match against Swindon Town. Powell made his first-team debut for Blackburn Rovers earlier this month. The English-American player's contract at Blackburn is valid until June 30, 2027. In the 2025/2026 Premier League 2 season, he has scored 5 goals and provided 2 assists in 10 appearances.
