Sunderland has expressed interest in acquiring Bilal El Khannouss, who is currently with Leicester City. It has been reported that El Khannouss is not keen on playing in the Championship following Leicester's relegation. Sunderland is emerging as the leading candidate to secure his signature. The 21-year-old playmaker, who transferred from KRC Genk to Leicester City last summer for 22.5 million euros, is seeking a return to the Premier League. Although AS Monaco and West Ham have also shown interest in his availability, Sunderland, having already signed several players including Noah Sadiki and Chemsdine Talbi from the Jupiler Pro League, seems to have the upper hand in acquiring El Khannouss. If the deal goes through, it will be Sunderland's seventh signing of the summer.
