FC Zurich is in negotiations to sign 27-year-old Kosovan and Swiss midfielder Betim Fazliji from FC St. Gallen. Although popular with fans at his current club, Fazliji has had limited playing time since his second cruciate ligament rupture. FC St. Gallen is aware of Zurich's efforts to sign the player, whose contract runs until summer 2027. The deal is not yet signed, but it is reported that the signs are good. FC Zurich is aware of Fazliji's significant injury history but hopes his experience from 128 games for St. Gallen will strengthen their squad for a relatively low fee. A move would give Fazliji the chance to play more regularly, while St. Gallen could reduce the size of its squad and its wage bill after being eliminated from European competition. The midfielder has 23 caps for Kosovo and his current Transfermarkt market value is €200k.
